FASD State Resources

  • The Single State Agency has developed a PowerPoint presentation on FASD for its 13 Regional Prevention Resource Centers to use in providing community outreach.
  • The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is training health care providers through the Midwest Regional Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Training Center (MRFASTC) and the Partners for Inclusive Communities, a program of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. MRFASTC and Partners for Inclusive Communities are sponsored educational programs. Foster parents, child care workers, and child welfare workers are also being trained through agencies of the Division of Child Care and Child Welfare.

All health care providers involved in the delivery or care of infants shall contact the Department of Human Services regarding an infant born and affected with a Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, share all pertinent information, including health information, with the department regarding an infant born and affected with a Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder. The department shall accept referrals, calls, and other communications from health care providers involved in the delivery or care of infants born and affected with a Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder and develop a plan of safe care for infants affected with a Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder.
